Being a SuperMom to multiples is truly a blessing in desguise. I have weekly and monthly calendars, but I seem to live ONE DAY at a time! I must tell you all that I could not do it without my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ by my side!

Maryanna Sick?...Or Not?

Thank God, the babies have really never been sick. I pray for their health everynight (and for all of my friends' multiples too). So when I do notice something wrong I am never sure if I should freak out or just wait it out. With that said...

For the last three days, Maryanna has had strong smelling urine and you know what that means ladies. Last night she woke us at about 1 am with a low grade fever. After the Tylenol kicked in she went back to bed and slept through the night. The next morning I knew I had to do something. I did NOT want my little girl to suffer with a urinary tract infection throughout the weekend if that was what was wrong with her. So I called and got her a Dr appointment for this afternoon. The Dr said that she had an ear infection (that we did NOT know about). Also, her inner lips in her vaginal area had "stuck" together! This was a first for me. I felt like a great mom, I had been too busy to notice "this problem!" My poor baby.

Well the Dr needed to confirm UT infection before treating her and a cathater was needed but due to the situation we had to go to the hospital to get it done. The Dr wrote her a perscription for an estrogen cream to put on her and said that the lips would open back up on their own with the cream. Yeah! He said that it is sometimes caused by low estrogen levels and also ordered some blood work. If she had a UT infection then he wanted an ultrasound too.

I had to take my pitiful little baby to the hospital to have blood drawn and a cathater! I was so sorry that I had to put her through all of that! When finished, we stopped for a snack at our FAVORITE mexican restaurant and a big glass of tea. We had to wait for the results before going doing anything. The nurse called and no UT infection! Yeah! The reason that we went to the Dr...she does not have it! However, she did need antibiotics for the ear and cream for her, you know.

We went to the pharmacy and it took an hour to get the meds. The poor baby was just laying in my arms. I wasn't sure how much more she could take. By the time we got home, said hello to everyone, put on her pjs, and rocked a couple of times she was fast asleep. I druged her up before she went to sleep and I hope that she rests better tonight. She looked so pitiful. Again, God answers prayers. She is sick but thanks to Him we caught an ear infection early and a developing condition before it caused an infection!

Macey and Cliff are great. I LOVE being a mom! I always knew I would.

By the way, I heard that my Grandma Holman in Dallas, TX is checking on the babies by reading the blog now! I have to say "Hello Grandma! We are looking forward to seeing you in the summer! Take care of yourself. We love you!"

Here are some pics from my camera:

  1. Ahhhh- so sorry she is sick but now she is on the road to recovery. I know exactly what you are talking about with the other problem because it happened to my granddaughter and I was like--- wow, that can really happen! Could it stay closed until she is married?? Anyway, the cream works.
